We told our own story about the storm. Mrs Paterson wrote them down and put them into "Wordle". It made the words into different styles. We copied lots of different styles to see which one we liked. Which one do you Like?
I chose the hearts because I liked them.

The morning after the storm:

What a wild, wild day and night. I had to wear shorts!!!!! and wade through deep water just to get out of my street to go to school! What a sight. Luckily the water was no longer lapping at the doors.
When I got to school we found Room 10 was inaccessible so they get a day at home!!! The playground is a mess and all the shade sails are ripped and tattered. Let's hope that is the worst of it.

What a wild wet day we have had today. Once all our lovely children were safely on their way home the teachers locked up and made their way home. What a surprise I got when I found my street was flooded. Mr Paterson and I had to roll up our trousers and wade through knee high water to get home. This is the sight from our window. I wrote down words about the wild weather and put it into "Wordle". Look what it created.

Maori Language Week
We took photos of all the teachers around the school so we could make a maori book called "Ko wai tenei?" or "Who is this?" . It was fun taking the photos.I liked learning maori. We learnt up to 20 in maori and instead of playing "21" we played "Tahi ma tekau". It was a bit hard to play "rua tekau ma tahi" but we will keep trying. It was real fun.

We have been learning maori. We can say how we are feeling .When Mrs Paterson says "Kei te pehea koe?", we can say " Kei te pai ahau". That means we are feeling good. Sometimes I say "Kei te wera ahau" which means I am hot.
We read a story about Hatupatu and the birdwoman. The birdwoman got cooked. We made these lovely bird pictures with koru designs.

This term we are learning to write letters. Today we wrote letters to Mrs Paterson to tell her about our holidays.
Emma and Jack are this weeks Bloggers. They will be sharing some of their writing and some of their reflections of things we have done during the week.

These are their letters about the holidays.

Dear Mrs Paterson,

In the holidays I went to Monkey Bay. I touched the seaweed. It was smelly. We went into the cave. We almost touched the water.

From Emma

Dear Mrs Paterson,

In the holidays I went to the Warehouse and I bought a remote control truck. Poppa gave me money because I hung out my Poppa's washing.

At the end of term 2 we said farewell to six Room 2 children who are moving on to start a wonderful new class, Room 10. We will miss you Jessica, Amelia, Damian, Jasiah, Zach and Robert but you will not be a world away. We will continue to be in touch (just like the children in this picture) and enjoy hearing about all the great things you will be doing with Mrs Craig.
